How to Restore IMEI and Fix Corrupted EFS on Samsung Galaxy Star Pro GT-S7262
If you have a Samsung Galaxy Star Pro GT-S7262 smartphone, you may have encountered some issues with your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number or your EFS (Encrypting File System) partition. These problems can cause your phone to lose network connectivity, display an invalid IMEI number, or show a null IMEI number. Fortunately, there is a way to restore your IMEI and fix your corrupted EFS using a tool called Z3X Samsung Firmware Linker.
Z3X Samsung Firmware Linker is a software that allows you to flash firmware files to your Samsung device using a USB cable. It can also backup and restore your EFS partition, which contains important information such as your IMEI number, network settings, and security data. By restoring your EFS partition, you can fix the issues that affect your phone's network functionality.
In this article, we will show you how to use Z3X Samsung Firmware Linker to restore your IMEI and fix your corrupted EFS on your Samsung Galaxy Star Pro GT-S7262. Before you proceed, make sure you have the following requirements:
A Samsung Galaxy Star Pro GT-S7262 smartphone with at least 50% battery charge.
A Windows PC with Z3X Samsung Firmware Linker installed. You can download it from here.
A USB cable to connect your phone to your PC.
A backup of your data, as this process will erase everything on your phone.
Once you have everything ready, follow these steps:
Turn off your phone and boot it into download mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down, Home, and Power buttons simultaneously until you see a warning screen. Press Volume Up to confirm.
Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable. Z3X Samsung Firmware Linker should detect your device and show its model number and firmware version.
Click on the Backup/Restore tab and then click on the Backup EFS button. This will create a backup of your EFS partition and save it to the following location: Storage/extSDCard/Samsung/Backup/EFS/GT-S7262_efs.tar.md5. You can copy this file to your PC for safekeeping.
Click on the Flash tab and then click on the Browse button. Locate and select the Samsung S7262 Efs File 52l that you downloaded from here. This is a modified firmware file that contains a working EFS partition for your device.
Click on the Flash button and wait for the process to complete. Your phone will reboot automatically when it is done.
Disconnect your phone from your PC and check if your IMEI number and network connectivity are restored. You can dial *#06# to check your IMEI number or go to Settings > About device > Status > IMEI information.
